YouTube Channel Recommendations

Posted 8 years ago

So I've spent the last few days being lazy and because I don't own a TV, I watch a lot of YouTube. What channels do you follow? Currently I'm glued to watching Vine compilations:

And the Hodge Twins (relationship, gym, new stories with a funny spin):

Do you follow certain channels? I need a few more that can help me pass a few hours per week. Podcasts on YouTube I don't watch as I listen to them on the go.

Every Frame a Painting - fascinating channel about cinematography:

Cinemasins - picking movies apart, very entertaining:

Alan Thrall - real bro's bro, great lifting advice with some humour sprinkled in:

Unnatural Vegan - the only Vegan person on YouTube I could find that doesn't make veganism look like an eating disorder for hippies:

I used to watch a lot more channels, but I'm giving up most of them (including some of the ones I posted above) since YouTube is consuming way to much of my time.

I liked the first video, watched it all and further cements how little I know about movies and how advanced some of the scenes really are. I'll check the vegan one later, I saw a channel called 'Vegan Gains' which is so bad. I kind of feel like he's purposely trolling to get views, what do you think?

Personally, I find some of his videos absolutely appalling and I stopped watching vegan gains very quickly to avoid supporting him. Either he's a master level troll or a very unstable, misguided person. I any case I'm not interested in what he has to say and it's kinda unfortunate that people seem to favor controversial content. Youtube is full of people who make veganism look like an eating disorder for hippies that is the end all be all and will lead you to the light (durianrider, freelee the banana girl, vegan gains, happy healthy vegan to name a few). That's unfortunate but you can also find people like Unnatural Vegan, Brian Turner etc. who just treat it like a normal diet that requires some sacrifices, but is perfectly adequate and has a relatively lower footprint than diets full of animal products (even if we skip the issue of morality and even if we assume that eating meat is the way to go it's hard to argue with the fact that meat industry in its current form has to go).
