I know what you mean, I don't think he's too interested in winning or losing but he just wants to try out new stuff.

In the 4th and 5th he was trying crazy elbows and trying to setup moves when he could have went for the finish. He did spend a good 4-5 years cleaning out the whole MW division and some of the LHW, my only guess is that he sees these fights as a way to try things out.

His last 6 fights have all been like this, so he is certainly trying things out or putting something else ahead of getting the W.

Respect to Bisping, he's been in the UFC for around a decade now and I think he's got a title shot? Don't think he can beat Luke (hope he does) but least he has a chance to become champion. He's paid his dues.

He is old and probably scared.

Now i know that sounds crazy but he fucked a fight so hard vs Weidman then the worst thing that can happen to a fighter in the cage when he broke his leg. So i think anyone in the world would probably not be as confident as they once were and tbh it was one of his greatest weapons which if you aint throwing 100% then you aint gona feel good.

One thing is when he put the pressure on is he was so scary. His face and his power you saw Bisping just like "WTF" but he failed at the end of the day. He was beaten by a better man and it is what it is.

Yeah idk what to think. This clowning aspect has been around since he was champ: Maia, Belfort, and ofc the first weidman fight when he got clocked. It made some sense when like Harvie said, no one could ven touch him. But now that he's a bi slower but obv still could be a great fighter, it's just such a waste.

In general it stuns me how often fighters think they're way ahead on the cards when any reasonable corner should be telling them that it could go either way. Hendricks vs GSP is a glaring example, I'm sure there are ton. Maybe Anderson really thought he was up by a mile, but at least his corner should have known he def lost Rd 1 and probably Rd 2, so he needed the 5th.

Yeh like Dana says "never leave it in the judges hands". I think Silva has plenty of money, a decent future in some capacity (gyms etc), one hell of a legacy and should just bow out.

Lets even remember the Diaz fight - Such a sick fight to look forward to and it was one hell of a let down. It just became an easy pay cheque and some sparring contest. Super tilting.

Tell you what tho it is so odd why he didn't do more. He knee was brutal, the face kick was insane and like I said when he came forward he looked like a man possessed and frankly he just looked fucking scary. If he did that 3 times more in the fight even for little flurries he wins right?

Also Bisping needs to work on power for sure. His punched had nothing behind them and if they did he would have actually knocked out silva. He will not become the champion hitting that softly for sure.

Yeah even at age 40, when Anderson turned it on, you can still see the "he's the best ainec" Anderson. But he lollygaggeg for almost the entire fight.

If you're an accountant, and numbers are no longer challenging or fun, you can mail it in for 20 years until you retire. But getting punched in the head? I think I'd want to be at peak effort for that.

yeh fair point on the peak thing and getting punched in the head.

Its that super sick thing - we see 15-25 mins of the head punching but the thousand punches they take when training and in fight camp must be super annoying and kinda life ruining at some point.
