UFC 198 - Anderson Silva Fighting?

Posted 8 years ago

So pretty amazing I have not heard a word of this fight and barely anything about the card. So Werdum is defending his title vs Miocic but I just noticed Silva is fighting Hall.........seriously did anyone know about this?

I guess my line is:

Werdum Win
Belfort Win
Hall Win
Cyborg Win (clearly)
Rua Win
Brown Win

I've def heard of it, but only cuz casino advertises fights, $10 ticket to watch on the big screen. No, I didn't know about Silva either. Frankly all the talk has been about 200.

Stipe's a baller, I'm looking for the upset. Vitor's prob gonna fail the post fight drug test anyway.

That card is actually pretty good with Cyborg on there too. I knew Silva was fighting but I've kind of lost interest because he doesn't have that killer instinct like before.

This card is in Brazil so hopefully the crowd rile the fighters up like nobody's business.

meanwhile, reports are that the UFC is up for sale, price around 4 billion. The Frittata bros bought it for 2 Million. Now that's binking an MTT!

Ha yeh just seen that but not sure why they would sell as seems no one can really buy it and also it still hasn't reached anywhere near its full potential. Selling mid boom seems odd?

IDK mate, they might be at peak more than mid-boom. There's a million events these days, and most of them suck. Everyone's getting busted for dope, there's an antitrust lawsuit, and there are organizations in Russia and China with so much stolen money that they could start to buy some of the talent. The crossover appeal of Ronda and Connor is like a streak of run-good that may not be repeatable. None of those events are likely in and of themselves to bring down the UFC, but since we're talking MTTs in every other thread, it's like the UFC has a McKeehan size chip lead on the FT, but it just takes 2-3 bad flips and you've lost all that equity. So the Ferttitas and Dana may be thinking ICM chop.

I swear to god, I can't analyze a single fecking thing these days without relating it to poker.
