Andrew's micro SNG grind

Posted 8 years ago

Hello!

I'm gonna share my experiences on micro limit sng tables. My progress and maybe some of the more interesting hands to analyze. I play full ring, imho after eliminating noobs, it's the same as 6max but more chips in your stack Wink

My PT4 imports went messed up, but to start with something, let me share the last 2 weeks in numbers:

Things start out crazy. I started with €0. Deposited the min €10 that's possible.

03/01 to 10/01:

~50 x full ring €1 turbo SNG
Starting balance: €10
Final balance: €22.28

11/01 to 17/01:

~40 x full ring €1 turbo SNG
~15 x full ring €2 turbo SNG
~1 x €5 MTT
~1 x €1 MTT

Starting balance: €22.28
Final balance: €47.16 + a €10 tournament token

Now that's a good bankroll to start with (47/23BI), the scariest part is over.
Gonna track and share my progress week by week. (as a don't play as many hands to share every day)

cheers

Welcome and GL at tables!!!

Awesome stuff and will look forward to following this journey. I don't think we have had many/if any SnG ones so this is exciting!

How many hours per week do you normally play?
Posted 8 years ago
I plan to play somewhere between 10-25 hrs depending on my schedule. It's hard to consistently sync with my real life. The thing is, there's nothing in the morning and early afternoon, SNGs hardly even start before 5pm. I'm gonna enter the pokervip rake race next month, switch to another site and probably this is gonna be fixed. I'll see how much I can cheese out of the system.

Gonna post this week's report, I have to reset my mind for the weekend.
PT still multiplies my winnings by 100, so no nice graphs here.

Then after a strike of bad luck on micros, I decided to test my luck a €10 3-table tourney. What a bad beat. Didn't deserve to lose that much of my bankroll eh.

Have to be more careful now, rebuild at €1's.

Scretched some side notes as well after reviewing my loss yesterday:
DESD should be slowplayed on flop
40% of pot for value betting, 60% for bluffing
never cbet against 3 or more opponents unless I have a very good reason to

Even though in the red now, I might've learnt of it.

Winning streak time!

Nice spreadsheet. Looks really good and keep that winning streak alive.

How would you rate your average opponent?
Posted 8 years ago
The average is a TAG with a bit wider range than usual. They very rarely 4bet and easily drop hands to cbets. Also, some of these players lack the concept of ICM, and easily go crazy after the bubble when "they have nothing to lose, it's a paid spot already". This makes heads-up play a lot easier.

I'm definately going to crush them in the long run. Finally have a pic to show, this is the complete 1st week of my journey.

One more thing that's very exploitable, loose people often call preflop raises with any pocket pair and stick to it even after the flop regardless of the board texture.

You know that feeling when you have no mood playing with the same boring people.
I decided to test a two upper levels €5, and €10.

In the €5 I made a mistake calling a 4bet on the flop (TTvKK), the €10 was a crucial one also with pocket tens, 974r flop, 6turn, Q river, flatting till I became pot committed. Then he shows pocket aces. Just look at my chart. eh

"back to the same boring people"

Haha yes we all know that feeling buddy but remember those boring people are the ones who pay the bills. It's like Starbucks taking orders all morning for a simple Coffee with milk but they are itching to make a triple espresso vanilla shot latte with cream....just remember the highest profits are on those simple coffees with milk Smile
