@Jon-PokerVIP I could have saved a lot of brainwork and just got you to write that sentence instead. Very succinctly put sir, nice job.

Well I used some of my winnings for the month and bought a Flopzilla licence, tried it out and got totally confused. I feel more hours coming on!

Pokerwise I'm still getting smashed alongside the others on the team apparently to. Shame, last month was so good to.
If we come out of this with less than a huge improvement though I'll be majorly surprised, the guys are working their little socks off to turn it round. Damn, I even spent money on it! Emo

Keep it no tilt, guys, no tilt and we'll do just fine.

Here's a good use for a comb in a tune.

Quick update.

Week two and nothing much changed, still losing. I think I got a bit passive to so dropping down will give me a chance to grab my bollox and get my shit back into gear.

Downswings:

'Looks like a bit of a downswing this month Mal!' Well, actually I don't really believe in them per se except historically, the cards have no memory for one thing so a 'downswing' can only last one hand. I also don't really like dwelling on what happened a few days ago, it doesn't help me today much except to use that knowledge as a guide to move on.

I often think downswings are used by some poker players like hippos use mud, to get wallowed in by the 'Oh I'm being so unlucky' crew when things get a bit warm. Not for me, no time for that - learned that one from the bossman to.

Here's another thing about so-called downswings, if we agree on that they only happen historically, how do then get to be 'on' or 'having' a downswing?
Doesn't make sense given I haven't been dealt my next hand yet. Am I clairvoyant that I can predict the next [or even this] hand? Oh yes please, do let it be so!
I just find the whole thing a bit ridiculous these days, correct me if I'm wrong though.

People say a huge positive of downswings is that they make them work even harder to improve, but maybe they should be doing that anyway; and you never know, it may even have alleviated some of the losses if they'd been more diligent.

I lack the eloquence these days to write better or I might have be able put that more succinctly. Where is @JonVIP when you need him! Cool

tldr; Downswings = BS.

Had a little respite last couple of days, so maybe the Lady has forgiven me for a bit, y'neva knows duz ya, ya just neva knows.

Great game this morning but only a couple of each limit going so took the chance and stuck an nl20 in there ...

@Jon-PokerVIP , I posted a HH in the above and it came out in red and double posted. The text underneath also came out in red.

In other news, yes coach, there has been a very slight resurgence in my results, but it's a loooong way up from here!

2 weeks left for recovery, gogogo me! Punch

Seems you used some top secret backend development code to make that happen. Will leave it as is.....as it sums you up well Smile

@Jon-PokerVIP Wot, you mean in the red? Blush

Lots of getting kicked in the butt going around the staking team this month; shame, but to lighten the mood and to show it really isn't so hard, here's a really tough river call I made yesterday.

This guy was more spewy than a Glaswegian on a Saturday night the day his beloved team won the football league. Beer

Wonder if I'd have folded to the shove if I hadn't hit the gin card? I'll give you a clue ... nit.

Not so much combo training as combat training needed down here. And yes, he stacked me next hand all inpf my AK v his KJo turned 2P. Hadn't even finished rubbing the money on m titties and had to give it back. Emo

I'm such a lightweight.
Posted 8 years ago
If you had folded otr if you hadn't hit then you should probably stop playing poker.

On the bright side, nice hand Wink
Posted 8 years ago*
I would have folded that river, he could have easily had 66 Laugh

Posted 8 years ago
Haha nit!

So here's me clicking buttons for 30 minutes at 2 X nl10 and 2X nl20 with no hud, it only distracts me from my daydreams anyway.

No hud, no sound, no clue. Yay, go me. Doh!

Feel free to comment as you see fit if you can stay awake that long.

So I'm trying my little titties off and getting nowhere fast lately.
I'm going to take a chill pill today for this morning and make a report in PT4 for all hands from yesterday, run the session again and see if I can spot anything. If not I'll run another one for the past week for losing pots, that should pop something up.

I only dropped 21e yesterday, AA
Posted 8 years ago
So, double post last time and 1/2 a post today, why me huh, why me! C'mon dealer get a fkn grip please! Giggle
Posted 8 years ago
Looking at just losing spots won't help. You also probably won't be able to find what you are struggling with on your own, try and review it all with other players or a coach for best results Smile
Posted 8 years ago
Ye thanks, that might just be the way to go. I can ask the skype group to look in if they promise not to laugh too loud. Giggle

Ok, graph for week 3:

Attached Image

That actually doesn't look too disastrous does it, but unfortunately it seems to be relentless this month so far and I've lost quite a bit. W34z3l recons we can lose 20BI in a month and it's not even a huge drop but it certainly feels like it when I've been winning for ages that's for sure!

I took a squint at my overall graph for 5 months on the staking team (will post at end of month review) and I'm actually still in profit with a positive winrate, which is just absolutely insane, but good for my confidence knowing I can take a bashing and still be a (albeit small) winner overall.

Players are very random on anon microgaming, even the so-called 'regs' are just so weak it has to be fun there and it is but it is also very swingy so if you can't take the heat ...

Which reminds me, I got tilty the other day it was going so badly, I think outside influences affected me a bit as well and I actually started sweating. Surprised I can't remember the last time a suckout or some runbad tilted me so I sat out. Very strange one that, I'm usually quite unemotional ingame.

Anyway, playing with no hud has made a difference to my play and does make me pay more attention and take a lot more notes. That means I will be playing less tables now which I think will benefit me anyway.

So, enjoy the weekend and be careful at nl10 because I just dropped to there and I crush that game... er ... um ... maybe. Sweating

Posted 8 years ago
Yeh you have probably heard me say this a lot but something good for moral is to look at your overall graph as these short term bad runs are literally just a blip on it.
Posted 8 years ago*
@Jon-PokerVIP yes I have and along with that if I add in the showdown and non-showdown lines it smooths the graph out nicely.

I'd also note that when I played zoom I played more hands in a month than I have here in total - had 300K smackdowns - and lost more! So this little blip (as brutal as it has been up to now) is just a reminder that I'm not quite as bulletproof as I'd like to think I am ... yet.

It's all good and I'll soon forget all this and get back to pumping my gums and being the great I am soon enough. Microstakes players, what can you do eh? Doh!

I read you didn't run so good at SCOOP at the weekend which is a shame. I think one needs to be virtually tilt-free to play those as well, so few chances and so many beats.

Cash still rocks my cradle though.

Hope the weekend went well people. Treat success and failure as equal impostors and you'll be ok.

Talking of blips, it was my birthday today and I've done no study, no playing, no philosophizing and no regertting.

Just drinking, eating, sleeping and farting. Go me.

Have a fun day.

Happy belated birthday! The big question though, chocolate or cream cake?
Posted 8 years ago
Thanks very much but it was neither actually.
Went for a meal with the mrs and had undercooked gammon, overcooked peas, chips thinner and whiter than my legs and they kept asking if I wanted more sauce when I hadn't had any; I could tell why because the meal was meh. The mrs loved her food as always and also had three Belgian chocolate waffles with ice-cream and toffee sauce, yes, three. My 4ft 10in pedal bin. In love

Back to the poker today after a day off so combos it is yet again. I'll get there eventually! Doh!

Posted 8 years ago
Playing nl4 mostly for now after such a bad month I could do with a laugh. Can't climb out of the hole from here it's far too steep a climb, but I can relax, consolidate and learn while I win a few BI here and there. Nest month I'll be a better player because if it.

Having said that, I played bad yesterday and this morning so needed to sit out, I'll fix that later.
Played wrong ranges OOP versus the 80+ mob who just pot the flop all the time and barrel pot if they hit. Nice if you've go it but somehow they manage to either wriggle free or you miss.

Still looking at combos which I'm using as a short warm up, but against the players I meet at the moment I'll keep them under my hat most times.

I'd wish you all good luck in the Hand Histories competition this month, but luck isn't really involved is it.

Have fun all. Smile

I would say to remember rake back and rake race money will clear a big chunk of your losses so it is never as bad as you think!
