Negreanu, Haxton & Stern Meet With Amaya

Posted 9 years ago

So big news over twitter was that the 3 amigos were going to LA i believe to meet the head of Amaya and the guy in charge of the VIP changes.

What was made very clear was this was not a negotiation and the plans were going ahead. So what was the point you say?

Basically to me this is Stars just trying to make themselves look approachable still whilst what really is happening is that they are moving away from these player types, becoming way more corporate and have some serious plans to shake the site up which will continue to be released.

So nothing was achieved but Stern probably got to sit in a room and mumble a little bit more.

Sighs

Stars are such a joke now. This is completely pointless. Think I need a new site to play at!

Yeh if you are a high volume player then Stars is probably not your best place to play. They said they don't want to concentrate on the mass tabling winners as the game will just die. They want to concentrate on the casual players deposit $200 and playing some 50cent 1dollar games.

I am not sure which games you play but a solid alternative is William Hill. They offer speed (zoom) games around the clock, huge sports betting site so tons of fish, plenty of traffic plus bonuses which include

- 35% WC rakeback
- €1500 deposit bonus (clears at 20%)
- Our Top 500 $55k monthly rake race
- Plus more!

I average 50k - 75k hands per month on stars playing 10nl 6 max ( averaging 15 tables).
I play at stars because I can play the same volume at 8 am / 11am / 3pm etc etc.
My biggest fear in moving sites to much smaller ones such as William Hill is the lack of traffic - going from 15 tables to say 6-8 tables, I'm worried would leave me bored.
Yesterday there was over 160,000 players on the tables at stars - the sheer player pool/volume and all day play is so convenient.

Do we think mass tabling is on the verge of dying?
Posted 9 years ago

Today I think anyone who wants to have a good win rate and decent rb have to play in more than one site, most of the other options beyond the stars rb offer fixed or a percentage of low rb.
The bad are the bots and seatscripters.

HOUDINI101: Do we think mass tabling is on the verge of dying?

I think less people are doing it for a few reasons

- Traffic
- Win rate
- Deals

Basically its hard to find 15-24 good tables so the smart people just don't do it as much anymore. Also many people who have been mass tabling have been losing so now they step back, study and play less tables and now book a better profit each month.

So i would not say dying but the % of people doing it now i would bet is 20% of what it used to be.
