NL10: Ajo - cbet?

Posted 8 years ago

I always wonder, do I cbet this flop, or just check and give up? It always seems like a waste, and my post flop 3betting game isn't the best. x/f the best here and should I be leading the turn? No stats.

AJo is just strong enough to make a call SB vs BTN, so if you're worried about wasting its potential there's no need to 3 bet it when you have no reads.

As played overcards usually are good enough for a cbet but this flop is horrible so checking and giving up is fine. You're always going to have some part of your range which does this.

Once he checks there is an option to make a delayed c bet. Assuming he bets his showdown value for value/protection we're going to be table to take the pot away on the turn or river enough to make it profitable double barreling. You don't have to do it every time, and I guess when the turn pairs the board they're going to put you on a bluff more frequently than normal, sono problem with giving up like you did.
