Insta-betting I find is usually a sign of a weak hand, I'd have called down and c-r on the river. We have a total lock on the hand and by raising they will fold draws that would otherwise stack off it hit.

The turn and two 9s in our hand also reduces their value range for calling a turn shove, would be calling in this spot.

I think if thought the insta-betting was a draw I could see me raising the flop, but otherwise just flatting to encourage some spewy play might work out better.

Turn is just a call, we have the board owned, if villain has quads the money will go in regardless, just no need to rush it.I fwe consider the board and our holding, there isn't much our friend here can continue with if we raise now is there.

So for me, it's either raise the flop straight away or call down and play as Harvie suggests.

Hand is played fine. Better option would probably be to x/r the flop though.

With a set in a 3 bet pot I much prefer to raise flop if there's a lot of overpair combos that can put you on a draw and stack off lighter than usual.

As played I would just min raise the turn to at least give him the illusion of fold equity and hopefully include some bluff jams
