Versus anon weak looking tagish, but no HUD and not a lot of hands.

Preflop: Didn't 3bet versus this guy who doesn't seem very aggro or spewy, but does seem a bit stationey.

Flop: I raise because nobody does, it doesn't make sense right? :). Maybe I should make it bigger?

Turn I 1/2 pot because Idon't want my opponent to fold an overpair or weaker Tx, maybe some flush draw with overs they floated with - and if they have a better T they'll tell me now.

River: Odd, I really didn't see this coming from such a player.

Maybe it's one of those 'I call because my play deliberately didn't make sense'?

Just seems like at least a better Tx, set or flush with overs hit (less likely)

Is there a better way to play this hand?

Clueless!

Thanks.

Whether you make it 80% of half pot on the turn I don't see over pairs or Tx folding anyway so make it bigger.

On the river I'd go ahead and fold. After our flop raise and turn cbet, I really don't think they are donk over shoving with a bluff or JT or worse.

Hmmm, I sometimes play with these raises because it looks so bluffy on the flop.

Turn I don't mind going bigger to look pushy.

The river... it's tough because as you've said, you've almost leveled yourself at this point.
In game I don't know how I'd react. All we can ask ourselves is... would a player like this shove AA or KK?

Not sure what flush he would have here, I think we can kinda discount it.

Occasionally he is gonna show T7, or a higher Ace though, other than that it's 44. But I think more likely he'd raise the turn with 44.

How come you've decided to stop using a HUD? Even if we aren't paying full attention, I still think it helps us keep track from table to table and not get mixed up between our tables.

Against a weak looking player river seems a standard fold.

This should be a much easier spot than if you bet and get raised and he keeps firing. You define your hand much better by taking the line you did, and I don't see him ever doing this with JT after you're repping Tx yourself.

Like the others said, it's a bit weird to raise for value and then only bet half pot. If you're going for hard value on the flop then carry on with that in mind.

Pre is never a 3bet here, too nice to play IP.

Do you ever raise flop as a bluff? If no then don't raise for value, we get so many folds when we raise here. I don't hate raising but make sure you do it also with QJ w/bdfd as well to balance and pick V carefully. Also a see a lot of people raise here because of your thought process: No one does it so I will.

Think calling flop is better for a couple of reasons, first of all raising would shut off most of his bluffs. Also, we wanna protect our calling range as our range is so so weak on this board( we have the widest calling range here bb vs sb).
Assuming you are going to have a bluff range on this flop, betting too small might not be the best idea on turn.
On river i think its quite close, really read dependent, but I would lean towards folding.

I dont bluff many flops of this nature because it just doesnt get any respect, whcih is undestandable, but then raising here gets the same treatment.

Pretty sure I was cooked on the river so I folded, didn'tt ake long but thought it was interesting because of my line.

Thanks again peeps, some of this will/might stick eventually! Smile
