I think everything is pretty standard up until the river, i guess i could raise the flop as well.

My thought on the river. Given his line it seems like an overpair to the flop board 88 - QQ. I don't think if he has KK, AA, AK, flush draws he C/C's the turn. I think i have the best hand on the river quite often and go for a shove as opposed to a small bet to try and make my range look more bluff heavy.

Any additional thoughts?

I don't see what worse hands call the river, unless you expect them to hero call here with a PP because the FD bricked, I'm not a fan of shoving as I do expect regs to play AK and KQ like this sometimes.

I'd be quite happy to get this hand to showdown and take a note as our hand is really not that strong in a 3bet pot. Or bet smaller like $4-7 to price in the PP we're targeting.

Raising the flop is an option depending on what we know about villain.

As played I'm checking back on the river. It's possible that making an underbet to price in QQ JJ is the way to go, but shoving is just value cutting yourself. You're really hoping that villain has KTs because there's nothing else that we beat which is ever calling.

River is massive spew. 5$ bet much muchhh better.

Don't like raising flop as we have shitload of equity IP.

Preflop: Seems fine, depending on villain we can consider mucking this hand as well as turning it into a 4bet bluff but against a standard 3bet range calling here is fine.

Flop: Raising flop is for sure an option here but I think IP it's going to play better as a call.

Turn: This is for sure a value bet now and I like your sizing here too.

River: I don't actually hate the shove here depending on the villain. With the way the hand has gone I would expect us to be ahead here very often and by shoving it makes our hand look a bit more bluffy IMO. Would you ever take this line with missed spades? I definitely would on occasion given how much weakness the villain has shown so if we are against a thinking player he may end up leveling himself into a call with 88-QQ type hands since your jam doesn't make much sense with a lone Kx. If I were in villains shoes I would be more likely to call the jam then I would a half pot bet.

It's an interesting spot for sure, definitely worth some more discussion.

I don't think river is massive spew. I would play it pretty much exactly the same way. I don't think you'll see a better hand from villain on the river often and if he is checking something strong on the turn it's probably to x/r all-in rather than to call and let you play a dangerous river IP.

While betting small might get you more calls you're also getting much less money when he calls. If you bet $5 on the river he has to call more than 3 times as much as he would against a shove to make it better. I really think that's unlikely. Betting tiny on the river also means you can't really bluff that much if you're consistent with your sizings and I suspect you'll have at least a few draws you'll want to bluff here.
