Anon v quietly passive table except BB and UTG who are playing versus BU a lot.

First i'm wondering if this is a fold preflop given villain just wont give an inch from the blinds.

Second, as played is my line postflop ok? Maybe I should chk behind and calm it down a bit?

Also, is my call ok on the flop? Villain isn't very aggro postflop, just the standard fit/fold nl20 reg.

Thanks.

I like your line.

Drawing to flushes and straights on a paired board on the turn will cause problems against passive players. Especially a non nut flush draw as well.

Pre flop open is fine though, even against guys who will call wide, J8s is plenty strong enough in position.

Checking behind on the flop can't be good with a flush draw, gutshot, and two overcards.

Played it perfect mate, I'd just call the flop, hand is too strong to fold but not strong enough to get in. Turn kills our equity and there's a chance we could already be drawing dead.

Raise bigger pre to punish them for calling wide. Betting flop is fine equity should be real good. I would call turn understanding it is a paired board and our hearts could be dead, but I would call intending to call any J H or 6 but not to raise. I do not think people in these spots are betting full houses on the turn as often as they are checking them.

Me calling turn here maybe a leak. I call turn to call / bet rivers 32% of the time (3*J 3*6 9*h = 15/47 = ~ 32%) ...

Thank you everybody, I'll try to remeber I got it right for once!

@Joshk81 that's an interesting take on it, thank you. I'm not sure I'd have the cahoonas to go to the river after villain's turn bet though! Sad

I like your line here too! Hah, the only thing you could change is vs these guys who never fold pre... maybe open bigger?

I think J8s is still never going to be weak enough to fold and especially IP. So no worries!

Flop is one of those things that you bet and if you get checkraised then you're still never that unhappy.
