Did you consider what cards the villian has? What hands are you beating with a single pair after he x/r and bet bet? Not many.

Sure we're beating hands like T9, 98, 78, 67 but thats about it. We lose to T8, 68, 79, AT and all sets and bluffs that got there with an ace on the river (if there is any in his range anyway - not likely).

It all comes down to our reads on the villian, calling the raise on the flop isn't bad and I'm definitely not one for folding straight away but on this board I wouldn't mind just folding the flop, and I'm nearly always folding the turn as 67 picks up a straight draw too and he's probably not giving up on the river if he his bluffing so we will find ourselfs in a horrible spot.

I'm with the mighty fi1zz1cs on this one. One of the leaks even for so-called 'regs' at microstakes is not being able to dump an overpair when the going gets a bit hot. I used to be the same, it isn't an easy thing to get to grips with.
It's that simple though, most times when our opponents play this way we're done and can fold.

It's the reality at microstakes that when we bet and get raised we're not happy and when we get raised and barreled into we're unhappy enough to make a disciplined fold. The general rule being, bet until we get raised, then make the fold.

Remember, we have one pair only, I'd probably peel the flop like the station I am but fold the turn without a blink. Maybe even on the flop as f1zz1cs suggested - if I was on a 'going' day.

tl;dr Discipline is a good tool to have.

Cheers for the comments guys. Looking back at it, I know I should have folded by the turn at the latest. Discipline is definitely something I need to work on (and many other things).

I like folding the turn here.

Always take positions into account. For one, if villain is good then he'll know you're typically stronger when UTG so he'll x/r less. Plus if he has a good idea of hand selection then you won't see too many random 9x or 7x for villain to be bluffing with. The main bluff that comes to mind is QJs but that's about it. So I expect his raise to be pretty strong and followed by the turn barrel I think you can fold.

I really don't mind folding on this flop given we opened UTG and most villain's won't expect us to fold overpairs. There's no flush draw and a made straight is already out there.

On a lot of drawy textures it's normal to call the flop raise in position and the turn, giving up on the river as most micro villain's won't fire three as a bluff. Here though we're quite deep and can expect villain to have more two pair combos on this board than usual. Plus we're only really beating a badly played JJ QQ.Not a lot to be gained by continuing.
