Raised to £8 under the gun with KK, player in mid position calls and so does Button.

Flop comes 6 8 9 (rainbow), I lead out for £25 then player in mp jams for circa £250, Button tanks for a while and then also jams for circa £260.

Now I'm not loving life, thinking at least 1 of them must have me beat, been playing with both players for 2 hours and neither have been too out of line or gone all in yet. I'm putting someone on 2 pair or even a flopped straight as there has been lots of play with connectors and one gappers.

I'm sitting with just shy of £400 which is table buy in max.

I begrudgingly fold and they show 9 3 and A 9s, turn and river are bricks so +£500 pot was won with a pair of 9s.

So in view of the action was my fold right or too nitty? Should i have shipped it all in?

Good solid fold especially based on the info you've given, your very rarely ahead in this spot especially when button rejams. At best your going to be in a very bad equity spot against pair and straight draw, most of the time drawing pretty dead.

For future reference this board smashes calling range of the other 2 guys so I really don't mind checking flop here and controlling the pot and being able to make a slightly more informed decision on later streets or even on the flop.

If you have info on either player being on the looser side or having done something spewy/bad previously then we can find reason to flick it in.

Thanks for the feedback, good point about checking flop, i'll bear that in mind in future.

If I'd of been drinking I'd have pushed the lot in, but then probably dropped it all at the baccarat table or down spear mint rhino 😉

A few hands earlier I also had KK got it all in pre, rubbing my hands at a £800 pot, he flips over KK also. I thought those kind of things only happen online ☺

Play as played till you see these guys do this then not folding TT+ or good 9x 100bb effective ... Nice game to be in

Thanks Josh, there certainly is a lot of value to be had especially if you're patient and wait for the right spots.

Played again Saturday night and was a + £1200 pot at my table (not involved unfortunately) all in pre with players holding AJ, JJ and KK, kings held.

Made a tidy little profit of £171.50, so up £600 over the last 4 sessions, happy days!!

I've always known the Hippo £1/£2 to be extremely loose whenever I have played there so this doesn't surprise me. Definitely a fold in that spot though. I would think about calling the MP jam but once the button flats then im done with the hand.

The only times your ahead (marginally) is when MP has 6x-7x/7x-8x but like I said once button flats he has a set so often you have to fold. Did the MP have 93 and button have A9?

Yeah MP had 93 and Button A9, I was ready to call the MP but Button action made me fold. It is certainly loose, some of the trash you see get turned over in big pots always amazes me.

Happy days though when I'm in those pots with a good hand!

Just started playing live, and struggling with ranges some of the time, vs your UTG, what hands would you be CC'in in MP?.

CC check call .... in these games i would almost have none lol ... there is almost nothing UTG I would be opening that would not be cbetting this board ... with ranges this wide calling pre we can cbet more often as they will connect weaker hands / nothing at all a lot of the time.

I would generally check this flop multi way and not be that bothered about check folding if player bets and is called.

You flatting 99-JJ to right?. What else do you CC there as well?.

I misunderstood and read it to be a check call ... you are not talking about the utg kk having a check call range but the mp preflop caller

I would flat 99 I guess. 10s and higher I would consider 3betting in some spots. Problem with flatting 10s or better in that spot is that your giving value to someone behind to also call preflop. Then your forced to play a hand OOP which would be the best hand post flop alot of the time. And on a picture card board your check/folding too much of the time.

I would try and take it down preflop with 10s or Jacks, or worst case you fold to a 4bet which usually means they have Aces or Kings.

In MP I would tend to just fold suited connectors, KJ suited etc to an UTG open. Your dominated alot of the time to what is probably a premium hand given the preflop raise from EP who I imagine has been playing pretty solid.

When it comes to live HH, you have to give us description and read on V's. If you say both V's are in their 20s and drinking, ship it. If someone is an 800 year old geezer who has played two hands since he last voted for thatcher, pre if that guy puts money in the middle it's always more than 10% of his stack so I'd dump JJ with almost no hesitation.
