I don't see what's wrong, on the river I'd be trying to get as much money into the post ASAP, would play it just the same way.

I think your line is spot on.

I used to c bet these boards with small pairs but the games have changed and people don't fold as often as they used to do. There's not much propect for improvement so I'm pretty much giving up on the turn if he makes a normal size bet.

In micro stakes games I would be surprised if you were able to open profitably 22+ from UTG. Have you checked your database to see how those hands perform?

Opening pre UTG I think is a leak. You have so many boards where you are out of position with an underpair. You are asking for a JT4 board and someone has JT.

I think it is better to fold these small pairs as I would assume if you look at PT / HEM what ever it is you use you are likely not running a profit opening these hands UTG.

A2 is more likely than 55 / 22 ... rarely, super super rarely, he has laid tarp with KK... maybe some A3... get it in and expect to be on the good side of a cooler often enough.

I understood the situation. Tighten up EP opens in loose games as UTG is where you will most often be playing OOP and your range should be at it's strongest. 66+ is not a strong range. This creates problems where you will be having difficulties out of position a lot.

My understand is that generally loosen up in tight games and tighten up in loose games. If they are loose, tighten up and take their money with the mediocre holdings they make vs you having a predominately value heavy range.

In tight games it is safer to loosen up bet more etc. as their range is more face up as it is much more constrictive.

Filter for ATo UTG and see what comes back. Then look at hands like AJo KJs QJs etc. Generally these are hands you are likely opening from EP and are likely losing money with EP... substitute playing tighter from EP with being much wider from LP.

I think your pre raise is OK, some people (including myself) won't open 22, 33, 44. Especially if guys behind are pretty aggro as you can be 3bet off it and these hands aren't easy to play OOP, but I understand you wanting to play it v fishy guy, so no real problem.

But anyway, flop I think actually it's not w/e, we should cbet and here are my reasons. We have very likely the best hand vs random fish. But not only that, we rep a K all day here and it makes it tough for him to want to continue. Our hand might also be winning, but it's vulnerable and you don't wanna just let JTo get a pair on the turn. So we have a small pair that's vulnerable and also not really a strong hand either so I'm happy to take the pot.

Some may disagree but those are my reasons.

River I don't see an issue, GII in a blink, only 55 and KK have us. KK unlikely. NH.

I would bet flop for protection.

As played calling off river is fine and we will still have the best time enough to make it profitable.
