he raised flop Cbets very often so this does not really narrow his range, there is still looooooots of air. At this point he has only 3 sets(5) that crush me. Villain would have 3bet KK/JJ. the rest is draws (QTcc) or air.

Turn
2£1.845
Hero checks, alibabba40t bets £1.12, Hero calls£1.12

The 5 does not change that much. Now there is only 1 combo of 55 in his range. and there is only 1 full house possible (he should not have any J5o or K5o) a suited 5 would not raise the flop so I should still be waaaaaaay ahead. As he Cbets nearly 50% on the turn, there still has to be lots of air.

River
2£4.086
Hero checks, alibabba40t bets £2.56, Hero calls£2.56

the 6c is not optimal for me. But how many flushes should he have. He would 3bet most Axc. I block some possible combos with my Kc. This blocker and the fact that he Cbets on the river 100% of his range and that i only needed to be good 28% of the time made me call.

Final Pot£9.20
Hero shows JK
alibabba40t shows 6A

Hero wins£8.70 (net +£4.18)
ticktac88 lost £0.14
alibabba40t lost £4.52

Purely based on results this call was great. But is my reasoning correct?

Good reasoning on all streets. I would prefer a back raise OTF to charge all the possible draws. You will have many hands to bluff catch with so you dont have to worry about your calling range getting too weak imo.

OTT i think he can have some 5sxs.(Not a big portion of his range but it can be there)

OTR I think when we need to count with him flatting all Asxs. If you can make the call even if he has all those you know its a good call.

I rather put more hands in his value range then take away hands if we are not exactly sure how this player plays. That will give you a bit of safety net when you are doing the math.

Given your read on villain I might fold this combo preflop if I'm liable to get 3bet a lot and I'm out of position.

No sample showing but taking your read of villain, I'd be putting in a raise at some stage and looking to get stacks in.
I can see the idea behind just calling the flop, but that turn is great for me and I'd be raising, top two pair is easily good enough to play for some nice deep stacks here in my opinion.

I like it. He isn't raising a 5 on that flop so I'm super comfortable just calling the turn. If we raise the turn we are folding out too many bluffs and if he is triple barrelling a lot then I would just let him spew.

Could maybe raise the river, he's probably not folding a king or a jack.

Pre-flop, don't mind folding this hand off-suit UTG, can't really call a 3-bet out of position

This is crazy talk Smile We will only get called by better hands and the combos he can have that beats us compared to combos of K or J he will play like this is like 1:0

Pre and flop both look good to me.

On the turn I'd be inclined to go for the check raise here. Villain has shown a decent amount of interest in this pot and it seems hard for him to have too many bluffs have have little equity so raising to ensure we charge his draws the max seems better than check calling. Depending on how solid our read is vs this player than calling down can be best, and given the hand he's showed up with here would indicate it might very well be, I'd like to know what kind of sample he's shown and what kinds of hands we've seen him bluffing rivers with before taking this line though.
