NL10 ATo

Posted 8 years ago

Another odd one. Sizing pre is weird and IP I think a call is loose but just about ok. Flop sizing is odd and have TPTK so calling, turn is odder with FD completing but can't have that many Jx so with pair and BDFD I can call for that size. River I feel got to fold but the line is so strange I want to call to see if its AA, J9 or bricked AQ. Basically I have no idea.

Ok this spot is Interesting, mmnh preflop IP is close call AT, but ok, i think that you can make re-raise in this turn, you need to have a plan and i thin that call flop and re-raise with any club is good in this spot, flop is very dangerus for him, because impact perfect in us range, so i prefer raise or fold in turn

BB makes a pretty big mistake with his sizing preflop. Even with the small raise ATo is probably iffy.

Flop is fine. I'd be happier if more money went in but I also don't particularly want to re-open the action. Turn is meh I don't think you can fold with a club for that sizing. River I don't like a call. I'd prefer fold or raise. Typically in these spots at the micros I recommend folding since players call too much and might bet/call a river raise with something like AJ. That's what I'm sticking with, but if you know villain is reasonable then you can raise river since he'll super rarely have a 9x and there should be relatively few flushes in his range as well.

I agree with Komodo and would fold pre for similar reasons as stated here

You make TPTK and it looks like you are going to be folding river taking a passive line / getting stacked if you elect to be more aggressive with the hand.

I'm folding this pre, even for such a small sizing.

As played we can't fold the flop with TPTK.

Turn is usually a fold but the club draw saves us.

River I'm folding. Interesting that Darius would recomend raising some times versus an unknown at these stakes.

Seen this kinda spot far too much at the micros. Small bets on flop and turn and then bigger on river. Seems odd but it happens.

These days I'm probably folding ATo vs a 3bet. I know the sizing is small but I don't like how it plays.

Flop is fine to call, and turn yeah... it's not wonderful and we don't really know where we are but you can call with a draw and evaluate his river sizing. Just one of these crappy spots with this hand.

River I just fold here at the micros, with now any 9x beating us. These can be good bluff river cards for you but I tend to lean away from doing that here.

Very marginal stuff here imo. I'd be making a fold preflop versus unknowm, this is bottom of my raising range from MP so I'm not gagging to go to war in a 3bet pot with it.

Fold preflop until I know more about villain and move on is my play.
'I want to call to see if it's ...' Curiosity killed the cat down here. There will be plenty of other opportunities to see your opponent's hands at showdown that wont cost you so much imo. Smile

As played it's not a tough river fold this time with only one pair.

I mentioned raising could be good if you know villain is reasonable (ie, has a fold button, has at least close to normal ranges preflop which leaves him screwed on this river, etc) so it's not something I would do against an unknown 99% of the time. Either way it should be an option you consider, even if it's just for a second and you decide nah that's dumb.

I do stick with my fold recommendation for this hand.
