NL10 big pot vs fish

Posted 8 years ago

Hi guys.
This is hand that boggles me a lot.
It was played vs 60/15 guy with 9% 3b pf .
MY thinking process is following :
PF standard.I am not mad about this flop, since he could call me with JJ ,but its not to bad ether.
I was go to psb here ,since he is a fish , and will call me Jx,Tt, broadways, 9x , but chose 2/3 psb.
Turn is very ugly and he showes into me with 2/3 psb.
He could easily have 2p,set of TT or JJ, also KQ.
I leveled myslef to call ,giving him AJ, KJ,QJ range altho not sure.
Folding in this spot felt really ugly, so I went for a call.

First I would say your 4bet is too small and versus this type of player I might just shove it at them after they 3bet me and count the money.

This is a fold. When they do this they mostly have the nuts. Looks a bit tilty to me given your post above, I would work on that as soon as you can it will save you a lot of chips.

Try this excellent article to get you started on the road to no tilt poker. Smile

I would still call it off. He can do this with worse overpairs scared you now have a straight draw.

It sucks that he can also have quite a few two pairs here but it's a 4 bet and you should have the best hand most of the time.

Preflop I would make the 4 bet bigger against this player type but that's nitpicking really.

I think it all looks good apart from the flop where I would bet a lot smaller. The bet is so big and really puts villain in such a bad spot with his nothings and marginals. I would have bet 1/3 of what you did.

Turn is an easy call.

Hes fold to cbet is like 20 so I made pot intentionally big couse I belive he will have inelastic range here.
He will call me regardless of the size with or the fold anyways.
Since we were deep I wanted to go for psb, but opted for smaller.
thx for opinon
