Was this too weak a fold?

Pre, JJ is strong enough to call here, my plan was to attack any dry flop where there weren't overcards.

OTF, I thought mostly only a K or something that missed altogether bets here. a weaker pair is more likely to check call. I thought about calling, to keep their bluffs in the pot - but I knew I didn't want to face a second barrel on the turn. A flat here encourages them to bet again regardless if they are good or not, so instead of wasting money when I knew I'd be folding to further action I just gave up.

Thoughts on how else I could have played that please?

I think you're over-estimating your opponents willingness to fire multiple streets here. Sure, you're going to face another bet reasonably often but villain will also shut down after getting called quite frequently as well. I think you can definitely call at least one street here and see how villain responds on the turn.

A point to note here, there likely isn't a huge amount of Kx that villain is three betting here. Most villains three bet range in these spots consist of Ax, particularly suited Ax, pocket pairs and then some Kx combos like AK/KQs type hands but overall a very large portion of his range here will have missed.

Villain's raise size indicates that he's not likely to be a strong player, so even though he's firing on a K high flop I think for this bet size you can call at least once.

Don't be so paranoid that calling always encourages a turn barrel. In his eyes you've just cold called a 3 bet, so AK should be on his mind discouraging him from bluffing air.
