NL10-Snap, AKs

If you have an aggro squeezer behind you, do you think this is a good move? Or should I just 3bet and go HU against the openraisor?

In this hand I didnt have a plan and didnt know my opponents. The way i played it just happend because I felt for it. Is it good or bad vs unknowns?

Usually is not a good ideea to 3bet AK vs decent UTG.

Since UTG is 40bb deep you can assume he is a weak player. You can "trap" some aggro players if you just call but again when the openraiser is only 40bb deep, you should get squeezed less often.

I would 3bet big: 1-1.2$ and go with the hand, just because the UTG is short.

I love it. The perfect hand to do it with also.

Like the call pre too, I would play this hand the exact same way.

100% thumbs up from me.

Usually this is just a 3bet, stack sizes are important here and you'll get less squeezes generally when the squeezer has a short opponent still to act. Seems like guy behind just isn't paying attention. Just fine to 3bet and get it in vs short UTG and focus on being heads up.

I don't think your play is bad at all though if you know opponent behind is actually just being a maniac. And in game I might play this the same if opponent was relentlessly 3 betting.

With the active squeezer still to act I think this is a sneaky call and a back raise for me and I love doing it, it makes them squirm. Smile

In this hand I think I'd just reraise player 6 to 4x his open and try to get the money in as quick as I can because of reasons already given, I have no information and got lucky this time. I like to leave getting lucky to them as much as a I can.

I like it. The only problem I can see with this plan is that aggro squeezers do what they do because they understand they get plenty of folds from the regs. Here I would expect him to be concerned about squeezing a 40bb stack and getting shoved on way more than he would like.

That said raising is obviously fine too, and still probably my prefered plan.

My standard here would just be to three bet the original opener.

The cool thing about poker is that there are often multiple "correct" plays. My general mentality with these kinds of things is that as long as you have a reason and a plan for what you are doing and it makes sense to you, then it will probably be a good play. This statement is obviously dependent on you being a reasonably good player, but the fact that you are here posting HH's etc would suggest that you are. Nice hand.
