I feel I really messed up this hand. Pre and flop I'm happy with, but can I just fold the river? I'm behind all of his value, and I don't think he has many bluffs.

After looking at the hand I think river is a fold (even getting 10:1). We still beat zero value and he's probably never betting this size as a bluff

I'd be slowing down on the turn when the flush comes in.

I'm expecting to get raised on the flop by 77/22/78 and over pairs sometimes, expecting to be called by all draws and some over pairs sometimes. Against a reg I'd be slowing down as I think the amount of hands we extract value from is slim.

Yeah river is prob a fold, but I can't see myself making it.

thanks for the feedback.

Is it crazy to fold the turn? I don't think he ever has value which we're ahead of when he bets 3/4 pot, and I'm finding it hard to put him on draws as he often checks back because we can be trapping made flushes some of the time.

I don't dislike how you played it. Runout is horrible and his bet size is crazy annoying for our hand. I may fold, or I may not, it depends how solid I'm feeling hah. We might have to though as we only beat 22 as a legit hand.

Think villain should bet bigger on the river personally after I call turn, our set is pretty transparent by the river so it's a fold for me. I beat nothing except a bluff and with 4 diamonds on board at this level I can count the bluffs on one finger; 222 would tank/check a lot of the time and so would Qx nearly always so the only one I can come up with is 9T with a diamond that would bet this small and that's pushing it.

Notice how our friend takes over the betting lead even after being raised, that's real scary and I need to tread mega careful. They do this to stop me getting a free river so maybe I can even fold out right there, but that's tough to do with a card to come! Doh!

If villain will stack off on a paired board I would call (and some fishy types will) but otherwise I can find a fold on the turn - sometimes.
A small value bet like this is often Jdx worried about getting raised, or a weaker flush like 89/9T with a diamond or something similar; Kdx and Adx go want broke obviously.

That's how I see it anyway but I am open to being corrected! Smile

Just got up so hope I didn't just type waffle. Brain no work beer without.

Pre: Standard.

Flop: Standard enough.

Turn: It gets interesting here, villain has called a check raise and has bombed out when the flush has hit. I expect to see him show up with the flush very often when he takes this line as nothing else really makes sense so not it's just a matter of pot odds. We have ten outs and are getting a little better than 2:1, when we factor in how likely we are to stack villain when we fill up this is a call.

River: River absolutely sucks. I don't fold getting this good a price but I'm obviously not happy.

I really prefer leading this flop multiway with so many draws out there. It's a disaster if it checks around with people playing draws passively.

On the turn it's grim to check when we don't have a diamond but his range for calling a flop check raise doesn't give us a ton of hands to extract value from. I'm still calling his big bet though.

On the river I would hero fold. I don't see him bluffing this amount, and would expect to see maybe the 4th or 5th nuts trying to milk you for a tiny bit of value.
