Think this is a hand we can just check behind on the flop, I never expect us to fold a better hand by betting and I expect us to get played at back and even bluffed somewhat - all we can do is fold when this happens. We missed hard and our equity is pretty bad.

Flop sizing is too big too, I think you could have made it $3 with both AK and AA to give you more options on the turn.

While I do agree that checking back the flop is a valid gameplan I think that betting something like 3$ might be too exploitable. I wouldn't mind using that sizing against a confirmed recreational with static ranges but not as a default play.

I would be betting $3-4 with AA here, not much we're scared of and we'll easy get stacks in by the river for well under a PSB.

Yes totally agree trying to bet $3 on flops like this at 50nl you are just going to get run over! It is way over complicating things and you are going to find it almost impossible to balance effectively! You would pretty much have to c bet this size with the whole of your range which I would certainly not think is the optimal play!

I think this c bet is very much villain dependant! Against a nitty reg or an unknown I will most likely check back as a reg is going to play well against your range! Against a good reg I will most likely sway toward shoving! You rep a decent pair well and as long as he does not have KK+ you are not in too bad shape when called and it is going to put him in a tough spot with mid pairs!

@Prostaker@Curl-1-out be good to get your thoughts..??

This is a spot where you have so small range that you need to mix in hands in both check and bet range. I will sometime have AK in my betting range and sometime in my checking range. I will sometime have TT-AA in my betting range and sometime in my checking range. Only hands im for sure not checking is A2s A4s hands i bluffed with pre, they are perfect to balance our 3 barreling range with.

As for size I think we can go quite small since we have the range advantage and are almost always Valuebetting. I wouldnt go so small as 3$. My standard would be around 33% of the pot.

As for the plan to shove to flop i think is terribad. @Jef147. Thats not how we maximize our value with our range. It might be the best explo play with this hand in a vacum (i dont think so) but we dont want to play any other hand in our range with that size.

@Prostaker Sorry I did mean to shove the flop following his check raise! Not sure if you thought I meant just open shove the flop! Just thought that he can check raise with a decent amount of air given we do not have a lot of value hands here and this is a decent candidate to balance our strong value hands!

Oh yeah that makes more sence. We will have tons of value hands so I dont think we need to balance with to many AK. I will use the A4 A2s first and foremost and then we can use the AKs with BD. He needs to be quite a hefty c/r for this the profitable and for us to shove many AKo.

Break even point for fold equity needed is 34% if we count on that we have 24% equity when called.

Definitely checking this behind on the flop.Even at 50NL I don't think you need to get fancy with mixing it up here.

If you are going to bet I think $5 would have been a better size to indicate that you might be milking him, while getting a better price on your bluff.
