Which AC blocker combos do you give him? After the action it looks like 3 ASK combos and that's it? This means he needs 6 value combos to make you break even so seems like a fine fold unless you can find more bluffs
Posted 7 years ago
I give him to wide range for example AJof, and that he is going to check one atlast one street, you are right it is fold
Posted 7 years ago
How many hands you got on him and what was is 3bet range on the buttom?
Posted 7 years ago
I give him around 14 %, and lean to of suited hands. Smething like thisAttached Image

All I can say is you make a discipline fold. Most of the time you will lose on that spot, with this kind of board texture.

Yeah - I would be surprised if his preflop 3betting range looked like that - I'd expect it to be more polar and with more suited and less offsuit hands.

why not 4bet bluff since he is unknown?

our hand is too good to start bluffing with IMO plus if you bluff this I feel like you're either going to have a hard time defending enough in this spot in a balanced or profitable way.

I think i would 4et with AJ, AQ is to strong
Posted 7 years ago
it's strong but you will play op ,and most of the time you will miss ,also you must put more money in pot to make your equity vs his range,i'm not confortable to play mp vs btn and c-c 3 streets on a/q board. Why do you put 14% 3bet range ?I think it's to large for btn-mp range (it's looks more btn-co) also i'm not sure if he 3bet suited conectors & gappers (i think play better with call ) and not Axs which have blockers .

My 3bet is around 14% in this spot, so i start there, what you think 3bet range should look like in this spot, what range you 3 bet from D vs MP
Posted 7 years ago*
depending of player opening range ,fold to 3bet and 4bet ,i like 3bet ip with a polarized range AA,KK,Axs,ATo,KJo vs < 20% range if his fold to 3bet >65% or if he play like me with 4bet or fold (if he 4bet me a lot i add AK,QQ- for jam -usually i flat these hands ), if he like to call 3bet i start 3bet with merge range TT+,AJo,ATs+,KQ,KJs.

14% seems super wide to me - you'd have to defend vs 4bets with roughly 5.6% of all starting hands and TT+, AQ+ is only 4.7%. Vs a MP 4b range, defending much wider than that feels really tough to make profitable at the margins unless you have a big skill edge. Plus 3betting 14% vs a 20% opening range visually looks too wide.

Your strategy also seems very counter-intuitive. You're 3betting a merged range so presumably that means you expect villains to flat the 3b wide, but at the same time you're choosing off-suit hands which have less equity vs villains calling range so I'm a little confused as to the strategy.

For me I'm 3betting more polar - small suited aces, small suited connectors and suited K's through T's that are just outside your calling range (Q8s, T8s type hands). I don't employ a flat vs 4bet strat in these positions so have a tighter value range also. Compared to the previous poster, i'm 3bet-jamming QQ+, AK as standard and when villain 4bets too much, start 3b-5b hands like 55 and A5s (although at the moment where I play, very few players over-4b so I don't do this much at all these days)

The problem with using your range is as soon as villain stops 3betting off-suit combos as much they lose their blockers (they can't block the flush when both cards are the same suit - they either have the flush or no blocker)

i m calling 4bet with all suited connectors like 78s, and also A5s is call or jam, offcourse if 4 bet is small, and i m folding off suited brodways. I choose to 3bet off suited brodways because it is hard to play without 3bet, and if do not 3bet i m folding pre, hand like 10Kof.

Cut away most SC's/gappers and add every AXs to his range imo.
idk what you open MP and what you call 3bet OOP there, but to me it looks like you only got QQ/JJ/AcKc/AQ and some stubborn AJs on the river, like 7 snap calls and 12 AQ + stubborn AJs if any. Call AQ when hold Ac (3). If you call 3bet some SC's as you're deeper, then you got even more flushes to call and this AQ becomes even easier fold.

AQ fine to call 3bet btw, from UTG you can start 4betting it.
