NL10 AA

Another hand that's just kinda confusing.
I raise UTG and get called by this tight looking opponent.
I don't really see a guy with a 20vpip playing any A3 combos vs UTG open, and even see them folding most baby pairs vs UTG open, (though I might be wrong, and there maybe some differences in which hands people choose to play vs UTG)
So am I facing any hand like JJ or QQ here?
I don't feel I can just ship it here when facing the raise. Just seems a bit to guessy vs this player.
On top of things obviously I'm drawing to the wheel and also higher sets so I actually have a bit of equity to cooler should they end up with a set.
They might decide to play it this way with those couple of hands on flop and turn so I call, but still am not that happy if they continue as pushy.
The problem comes on the river, with the hands that I mentioned (JJ,QQ) I REALLY don't believe they'll push all the way this hard when my range is still pretty much uncapped. So they either flopped the set, or binked the J with JJ.
KK I think will just be 3bet pre.
I dunno, this was a bit of a toughie.

Yeah he can't have straights but baby pairs people love to call vs tight UTG ranges so I reckon he can have all of the sets. He can also play lots of weaker overpairs like this targetting your Ax that might not be able to laydown two overs and a GS.

Up to the river that is. Can 88 really jam on a J river after you called twice when they have SDV against all your missed stuff and limited FE against your stronger hands. Here I think I hate life and fold. He has all the FH's (although so do you) and I can't really think of any combos you beat apart from spaz.

A 20/14 doesn't look the type to be raising overpairs post flop.

His bet size on the turn is kind of polarised so 54s isn't really going to show up leaving us with full houses most of the time. Even if villain is the type to raise medium pairs on low boards, this particular board is one where people are going to get sticky with any Ax so I doubt he'd be trying it on there.

As played I'd be happy defending on the flop but would fold the turn, even for a smaller sizing.

So yeah... combination wise it's really hard to get away from this. The board is blocking set combos, you're blocking straight combos (even those of the backdoor combo draw variety) and you're beating two pair type hands. At the same time, this river sizing makes things less straightforward math-wise. This one is super player dependant and if you had the info villain is on a tighter side I probably wouldn't be a hero and folding is the way to go, but I wouldn't need much convincing calling the river on this texture.

I think I'd fold this on the turn and go look for the damned dog again.
This type of player isn't getting tricky most days and more likely to play chk/c passive stuff. You wont get chk/r on the flop often with that 88 kind of hand mentioned and they certainly wont be banging chips out quicker than Harry Ramsden at a charity match with it, but this just smells like a set hit everything.

Fold turn for me on a 'going day', call and fold river on a 'not-going day'. Sucks sox to be AA sometimes.
