Q9s 50nl

Villan looks like he has an aggressive c/r however a small sample. I would expect sets on the flop and the turn to raise and the only other 9 that beats me is A9s. I would however egnerally expect 9x just to call but little is known about the villan.

IDK if sets do raise f or t, since there isn't a whole lot for them to be scared of. The straight is so unlikely, you're either bluffing or drawing thin. And if he did raise turn, he's kinda announcing he has an overpair or a set.

His river jam, why would he do that without a boat or trips w great kicker? JJ/TT might b/f or b/crying-call, KK/QQ prob happy enough to b/c. AA could play it this way, but not the V you describe. And he should have zero bluffs here. Do we really think he was on FD AND willing to b/s the river? b/f is what you'll see from FD most every time.

Im having a hard time giving a thought about this hand. Maybe im leveling too much here. Because i think he can go like maybe u have a lot of bluffs here, but he has no showdown value, so he goes for the re raise bluff? Probably its an easy fold, and im just leveling too much, and that would explain why i loss on the tables lol.

River is just a check call.

The reason we are checking the river is to induce vs missed draws so we achieve nothing from raising. We can also be crushed. Our hand is also not strong enough to check raise here honestly.

I would fold the river as this looks super strong but this could all be avoided by making a better river decision.

Also just betting the river is fine and go small. Try to get value from a weak 2 pair and make it small enough so that villain can still do something stupid.

Generally players raise sets where there's a draw to be worried about to balance their bluff raises and to get value from draws and over pairs. We rep some potential bluffs like missed draws. Opponent will most likely call with 9x, even a lot of regs can't fold a set here. Like I say we lose to 1 combo of 9x so this is a mandatory raise IMO. I don't expect him to bluff raise here it's more a case of if he is a recreational and he has a 9 he can over play it and jam for value thinking we have AA or the like.

I highly doubt we should be doing anything apart from bet for value on the river when we make trips. X/r really doesn't make too much sense imo. First we are giving him the opportunity to check back stuff that we can extract value from. Second, as stratomentions, the point of checking is usually to extract value from missed FD's, so we don't acheive a huge amount with a check/raise. Not to mention, hoping guys will bluff river in this spot is probably ambitious at this limit. It's likely a great bluff spot, but this doesn't mean we can rely on the average passive opponent to take it.

Flop: I prefer a check/call. The reason being i think Q,9 is to weak of a value bet multi way on this sort of texture. However, betting is not terrible since we dont block any draws so i can see reasons for both plays.
Turn: As played, i just bet again however i would not get to this situation in the first place. As played in my line, i would just check/call again. As a general guideline its not correct to fold top pair to 2 bets but there are some situations which warrant it. This depends on the player mostly, and the bet sizing. However, given the pot is multiway i would sometimes fold.
River: As played for the river, The 9 is not a very good card for our overall range even though its a great card for our hand betting to wide in this spot will just get us exploited in the long term. By checking, we allow for missed draws to bluff, and even if they don't its still the best way to extract value from them. Facing a bet i just call. I expect villian to be fairly polarized in this spot so i don't see much value in a raise. Its not inconceivable for villian to have flat called hands like K,9s and A,9s preflop and flatted 2 streets with A,9s or K,9s. As you have played the hand in this way though i cant see myself calling. I expect villians at this limit to have a very small to non existent bluff range in this spot so at best the call is neutral Ev.
