PokerVIP Free ModPack for Ipoker FAQ and Feedback Thread.

Hello I am I3azyl, creator of the PokerVIP Free ModPack for Ipoker. In this thread I will provide you with support and I would love to get some feedback from you on my creation.

I have reasonable amount of experience with making card/table/chips modifications for various poker sites but my work was never made available to a large audience. Also even though I feel competent at graphic design I'm by no means a software developer and since Ipoker is tricky to mod I had to write my own solution for deploying the ModPack. Because of that feedback on the software (bugs, how user friendly is it etc.) will be as much (if not more) appreciated as the feedback on the graphic components of the mod (color palet, brghtness, overall feel etc.). Without further ado:

FAQ

Q: How do I use this mod?
A: Download and double-click the setup file, install the PokerVIP Free ModPack for Ipoker into the directory of the ipoker skin that you're using (for example: C:PokerBetfair.com Poker). I highly recommend creating shortcut on your desktop for the ModPack since from now on you'll have to open your poker room using PokerVIP Free ModPack for Ipoker.exe if you want this mod to work. When the instalation is complete every time you want to use mods open the PokerVIP Free ModPack for Ipoker.exe click on the button with your poker skin icon to open it (make sure you follow the instructions in the message box: 1. log in 2. open random cash table before you start the modding process 3. close it 4. click the icons representing table/cards/chips mods and enjoy!).

Q: Hold your horses sir! I have no idea what's my poker skin directory.
A: Right click on your poker skin shortcut that's located on your desktop and from the context menu choose „open file location” or „properties → open file location”. You can click on window address bar and copy your poker room directory path.

”…” stands for your windows user name.

Q: Ok so far so good I installed the stuff but when I try to click on the button with my poker room icon in your software I get some kind of error: „blah blah blah something about.DefaultMy poker skin nameCards blah blah blah”.
A: Most likely you installed the PokerVIP Free ModPack in the wrong directory. Keep in mind that you must install the software in the same exact directory that you installed your poker skin in. There's also a small chance of a software bug since I haven't tested every ipoker skin. If a bunch of people playing on Boyle or Coral poker have the same issue I will provide you with a quick fix.

Q: I'm getting error message saying something about „.NET Framework” (I am using windows XP or older).
A: It's very possible that PokerVIP Free ModPack won't work on windows XP (and older versions of windows). I have no way of testing it but if that's the case there's also no fix for that as far as I'm aware.

Q: I'm getting error message saying something about „.NET Framework” (I am using windows vista/7/8/8.1).
A: Well this shouldn't happen but if it somehow does try downloading the newest .NET Framework from microsoft official site (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30653).

Q: When I try to open poker room or table I'm getting error message saying: „Casino component 'topview_holdem_omaha' is missing and can not be downloaded”.
A: You probably misclicked and choose the wrong poker skin button. Close your poker software, then open PokerVIP Free ModPack for Ipoker.exe and do everyting as described in the first question of this FAQ. Everything should work fine now.

Q: I got disconnected during poker session. What now?
A: Don't panic:) Just do everything as described in the first question of this FAQ. If you try to open your poker skin by double clicking desktop shortcut instead you'll get „Casino component 'topview_holdem_omaha' is missing and can not be downloaded” error and you'll have to restart your poker software again. If you do everything right error won't show.

Q: I used PokerStars mod once and it was way less complicated.
A: Well that's because PokerStars has separate .exe file that doesn't search for updates every time you open your poker room. Unfortunately that's not the case with Ipoker. Ipoker skins search for updates everytime you open them and they try to overwrite any changes the first time you open table so that's why you have to do all those different steps with PokerVIP Free ModPack for Ipoker. In practice it comes down to exactly 7 more clicks (less if you don't want to modify table, cards or chips) each time you want to start playing so it's not a big price to pay for better overall experience during the session:)
